As professionals deeply involved in the R&D, production, and export of asphalt mixing plants, we have cultivated this industry for over a decade, serving clients in dozens of countries and regions worldwide. In our export experience, we've found that the burner, as the "heart" of an asphalt mixing plant, directly determines the equipment's energy consumption, environmental compliance and compatibility. Furthermore, differences in fuel supply and environmental standards across countries make burner selection crucial for adapting exported equipment. Based on practical experience, today we'll outline the mainstream types of asphalt plant burners and share our selection considerations and experience with industry colleagues and overseas clients.

The core of burner selection for asphalt mixing plants is "compatibility"—matching equipment capacity, local fuel, and environmental requirements. This is a principle we consistently adhere to when exporting equipment. Currently, the mainstream asphalt plant burner types are mainly divided into 3 categories, they are diesel burner, gas burner and dual-fuel burner respectively, each with its own advantages and disadvantages, adapting to different export scenarios and equipment scales, rather than simply pursuing "high-end."
Diesel burners are the "standard" for asphalt mixing plants and are our largest export category, suitable for asphalt mixing plants of all sizes. Its core advantages are ease of operation and rapid start-up, requiring no complex pretreatment and reaching rated heating demand within 10-15 minutes. Fuel storage is convenient and not geographically restricted, making it particularly suitable for regions like Africa and Southeast Asia where natural gas pipelines are not available and fuel supply is unstable. Based on export experience, we have specifically optimized diesel burners for different sizes of asphalt mixing plants. Smaller asphalt plants focus on simplified maintenance and reduced malfunctions, while larger plants enhance heating power and stability to adapt to different production conditions. However, it should be noted that its fuel cost is higher, and NOx emissions are relatively higher. For customers with stricter environmental requirements, we will provide simple denitrification devices to balance practicality and compliance.

Gas burners are the preferred choice under environmental trends, with export demand continuously increasing in recent years. They are widely used in medium and large-sized asphalt mixing plants, and smaller plants can also be adapted according to their needs. Using natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas as fuel, they are clean and pollution-free, with NOx emissions only one-third that of diesel burners. Thermal efficiency reaches over 92%, and maintenance frequency is significantly reduced, making them suitable for regions with stringent environmental standards, such as Europe, Japan, and South Korea, or areas with well-developed natural gas pipeline networks. Our exported gas burners can flexibly adjust their heating power according to the mixing plant's capacity. They are all equipped with explosion-proof and leak detection devices, adaptable to the gas pressure standards of different countries, and we also provide LNG storage tank solutions to address the pain points of use in areas without pipeline networks, breaking geographical limitations.
Dual-fuel burners are a "flexible" solution to cope with fuel fluctuations, a veritable "universal adaptability solution" for exported equipment, suitable for asphalt mixing plants of all sizes. They allow for flexible switching between diesel and natural gas, and heavy oil and natural gas. In our export experience, we have found this type particularly suitable for regions with large fuel price fluctuations and unstable supply, such as some South American countries. Its core advantage is balancing cost and environmental protection; switching to low-cost fuels during peak production and to clean fuels during environmental inspections, without requiring additional burners, reducing customer equipment investment. However, it should be noted that its structure is complex, and the initial purchase cost is relatively high. We provide customers with dedicated commissioning and maintenance training, optimizing operating procedures for the operational characteristics of asphalt mixing plants of different sizes, lowering the barrier to entry.
With years of experience, we firmly believe there is no single best burner, only the most suitable choice. As an exporter, we not only provide equipment but also tailor burner recommendations based on the actual working conditions and batching plant scale of overseas customers, optimizing equipment compatibility. In the future, we will continue to deepen our expertise in environmentally friendly, flexible, and scalable technologies, ensuring that each burner meets the needs of different countries and asphalt mixing plants of varying sizes, helping Chinese asphalt batching plant equipment reach the global market and achieving a win-win situation of cost reduction, environmental protection, and high efficiency.
