As we have learned about the control system of hot mix asphalt plant before, today our topic is about the material system of asphalt mixing plant. The material system of asphalt batch mixing plant can be divided into three parts, weighing system, conveyor system and storage system.

1. Material weighing system
Material weighing system is a key component that affects the quality of concrete and the cost of production. It is divided into three parts: aggregate weighing, powder weighing and liquid weighing. Under normal circumstances, the small mixing plant under 20 cubic meters per hour using superimposed weighing method, that is, aggregate (sand, stone) with a scale, cement and fly ash with a scale, water and liquid admixtures were weighing respectively, and then put the liquid admixture into the water bucket pre-mixed. And more than 50 cubic meters per hour, the asphalt mixing plant use the separately weighing method, all weighing are used electronic scales and computer control. Aggregate weighing accuracy ≤ 2%, cement, powder, water and admixture weighing accuracy are ≤ 1%.
2. Material Conveyor system
The Conveyor system consist of aggregate conveying, powder conveying and liquid conveying. Aggregate conveying, the current mixing plant transport include hopper conveyor and belt conveyor. The advantages of hopper conveyor are small footprint and simple structure. The advantages of belt conveyor is large transport distance, high efficiency and low failure rate. The belt conveyor is mainly used for asphalt batch mixing plant with aggregate storage tanks, thereby increasing the productivity. Powder conveying, at present, the commonly used powder conveying method is the transmission of the screw conveyor, the large-scale mixing plant has the use of pneumatic conveying and scraper delivery. The advantages of screw conveyor is simple structure, low cost and reliable use. Liquid conveying mainly refers to water and liquid admixtures, which are transported by the pump respectively.
3. Material storage system
Basically the same as concrete material storage method. Aggregate open storage; powder fully enclosed steel silo storage; admixture with steel containers storage.
